Discover a food, music and dance-filled holiday celebration, hosted by the Southlake Foundation! Diwali (Deepavali), or Festival of Lights is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. The mission of the Diwali at Southlake Town Square Festival of Lights is to celebrate Indian culture and traditions by featuring traditional Indian dance, entertainment, and food from various parts of India. This is a free event that will host vendors on-site selling various items for all ages!
